Stockholm Junior Water Prize gathers imaginative young minds from all over the world, encouraging their continued interest in water and sustainability issues. Each year, thousands of participants in over 35 countries all around the globe join national competitions in
hopes of earning the chance to represent their nation at the international final.
The prize consists of two parts: the national competition and the international final. All participating countries arrange their own national competition. The national winner
proceeds to the international final in Stockholm that takes place during World Water Week.
The national and international competitions are open to young people between the ages of 15 and 20 who have conducted water-related projects of proven environmental, scientific, social or technological significance. The projects range from local to global topics.
During the national final at the Nigerian Young Water Professionals Conference, the finalists actively join the national conference through a variety of arranged activities. This includes meeting with researchers, politicians and media: interviews with the national jury, and of course the prize ceremony and Award dinner.

events: interviews with the international jury, a tour of Stockholm, and of course, the prize ceremony and award dinner.
1st Prize- #300,000 cash plus free Flight Ticket to Stockholm-Sweden, Accommodation and feeding.
2nd Prize - #200,000 cash
3rd Prize- #100,000 cash
Consolation Prize- #50,000 each to the 7 runner ups.
The winner of the Stockholm Junior Water Prize receives a USD 15,000 award, a crystal prize sculpture, a diploma, as well as the stay in Stockholm. The winner�s school receives USD5,000. The international jury may choose to award different projects with Diplomas of Excellence,in which case the recipient receive USD 1,000. The prize sums are provided by the Stockholm Water Foundation. All finalists will receive diplomas and recognition on stage.

- 9th April 2018 - Announcement of ten selected proposals
- 13th -24th April 2018 - Project Execution by Contestants
- 25th April -12th May 2018 - Submission of Project Report by Contestants
- Assessment of Projects and Interview by Jury- 31st May-2nd June 2018.
- Award Ceremony- Saturday 2nd June 2018
