, I would like to take a moment to answer some of the most pressing question you might have.

What is NYWP?

The NYWP  is a network committed to building capacity among emerging water professionals, stimulate and encourage the continued interest of young Nigerians in water and the environment, and encourage water wise policies and practices in Nigeria. We are particularly passionate about helping people in the earlier stages of their studies and careers to become relevant in the global water sector, understand and explore the challenges and opportunities of the sector, build the skills they need to be impactful contributors to the sector and develop meaningful networks that will provide the insight, support, access and opportunities needed to build exciting, meaningful and challenging careers.

How can I get involved?
To get involve with NYWP. 



  • Access to a wide range of academic and technical learning events (such as conference, seminars, and technical tours), skills development events (such as publications workshops, entrepreneurship workshops, and public speaking activities) and outreach activities (such as school awareness events and community projects) 

  • Discounted rates for events and programmes

  • There is no membership fee for the YWP Programme

  • Access to a range of water-related technical and research articles (via IWA)

  • An international professional network


  • Members can be professionals or students under the age of 35, or can be older than 35 but have only recently become qualified in the past 5 years

  • Membership of our parent organisations (IWA) is required for official YWP membership

International Water Association (IWA)

International Water Association (IWA) is an organisation that brings together people from across the water profession to deliver equitable and sustainable water solutions for our world. With headquarters in London and regional offices around the globe, the network has working clusters, specialist and task groups working on the most pressing water issues. The IWA creates thematic events and programmes to provide the network with a mechanism to respond to global challenges and support progressive agendas for the water and sanitation sector.
